Mettā is a Pali word (maitrī in Sanskrit) meaning benevolence,  loving-kindness and goodwill.

If you’re looking for a deeply therapeutic yet intuitive and spiritually aligned massage, you’ve come to the right place!

My DEEP METTA massage is a unique combination of massage and bodywork procedures delivered with slow, rhythmic strokes, flowing manipulations and laser focused pressure that help to direct the client's attention towards a more integrated experience of their body. 

I work intentionally and spot-specifically, focusing on problem or target areas, digging deep into fascial restrictions and liberating joints, muscles and limbs to move more freely. I also work intuitively, feeling for energetic blockages which sometimes correlate with stuck emotional trauma. While I have a basic flow or choreography to begin, what evolves is always an extremely tailored and personalized massage based on the client's voiced preferences, the pre-massage assessment and how I'm guided to reveal areas that require extra focus and healing.

More about the name, HEAVY METTA:

The cultivation of benevolence is a form of meditation that is growing in popularity in the west (mettā bhāvanā or loving-kindness meditation), born from the compassion and universal loving-kindness concept of Metta as discussed in the Metta Sutta of Buddhism and also found in the ancient and medieval texts of Hinduism and Jainism. As many theologians both eastern and western have pointed out, this same sense of Metta was exactly the same deep love and compassion for humanity that ignited the passion of Christ. In fact, the words massage and messiah are actually cognates (etymological cousins, if you will), and both have their roots in the act of anointing with oil. My massage practice is therefore both a loving-kindness meditation on the being-ness of my client as well as a full-body oil anointing.
